Whats new at Pivot Ministry

These are exciting times for Pivot Ministries. The growth we have experienced in the last 2 years has been remarkable. Between 2003 -2004 we averaged 15 men per month. From 2005 to current the monthly average has hovered around 48-50 men; serving 4,200 meals per month. This is due to the faithfulness of God’s people. Here are some of the new programs that we put into action.
1. The Alonzo Smalls Re-entry House: Since August 2006, this home has served as transitional housing for the men who have successfully completed Pivot Ministries, Teen Challenge or any other twelve month Christ centered ministry. We are providing strong accountability, while assisting the men in finding gainful employment. This will make their transition successful.
2. Community Outreach Ministry: This consists of a Community Enhancement Team: This team is available for Church and Pivot supporters who are in need of help with cleaning, painting and other small projects in the Church or around the community. A Drug Awareness Team (DAT): a store front ministry where the message of drug and alcohol prevention is brought into the community; using supermarkets and other high traffic commercial properties. Giving broader exposure to Pivot Ministries in the community
3. Computer Learning Center: The center provides basic computer skills for the men, broadening their qualifications for employment. Our learning center, along with wonderful volunteers, is making it possible for us to be more effective in meeting the men’s academic needs.
4. International School of Ministry (ISOM): This program gives our staff members the opportunity to receive an associate’s degree in ministry.
The growth we have experienced is staggering. In order for these avenues to be successful, we need your prayers and support, in this new season at Pivot Ministries.
